Position: Director of Mental Health & Psychiatric Care (Correctional)
Location: Tallahassee

Healthcare and Emergency Solutions is seeking a qualified Psychiatrist / Director of Mental Health to provide and oversee psychiatric services within a correctional facility. This role combines direct clinical care with program leadership to ensure safe, effective, and compliant mental health treatment.

Key Responsibilities Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning

Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with clinical and facility protocols

Provide clinical leadership and supervision to mental health staff

Ensure compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and Florida regulatory standards

Collaborate with medical, nursing, custody, and administrative leadership

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Required Qualifications Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an accredited U.S. psychiatry residency program

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
Active, unrestricted Florida medical license

Active DEA registration

Current BLS/CPR certification

Ability to pass a correctional facility security background check

Preferred Qualifications Two (2) or more years of experience in correctional or forensic mental health

Certified Correctional Health Professional – Mental Health (CCHP‑MH)
Experience in locked or high‑acuity treatment environments
