We are seeking a full‑time Director of Inpatient Psychiatric Services to join our team at Wakulla Continuum of Care Unit located in Crawfordville, Florida, just 15 miles Southeast of Tallahassee.
Responsibilities- Lead inpatient psychiatric services while supervising a multidisciplinary team composed of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and other mental health professionals.
- Provide inpatient or outpatient services within a state‑of‑the‑art male correctional institution.
- Utilize innovative programming and specialized residential mental health units to assist patients with serious mental illness.
- Administer psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director.
- Provide clinical leadership for a multi‑disciplinary team in delivering behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.
- Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of an accredited residency program.
- Current license to practice medicine as a psychiatrist in Florida.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry.
- Active DEA registration certificate.
- Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification.
- Ability to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as a psychiatrist in a clinical setting (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit (preferred).
Monday‑Friday Day Shift. All full‑time psychiatrists participate in rotational on‑call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. The on‑call lasts for 7 days / 24 hours per day and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual compensation.
