Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida. Due to higher-than-anticipated patient volumes, the emergency department is seeking additional physician coverage for ongoing PM shifts in a collaborative, well-supported clinical environment.

Position Details

• Shift Length:
  Primarily 10-hour shifts
• Coverage Needed: PM Shifts
• Patient Population:
  Adult patients only (dedicated pediatric emergency department)
• Emergency Department Bays: 33
• Patient Volume:
  Approximately 1.8–2.0 patients per hour
• Admission Rate: 26–30%
• Trauma Designation:
  Non-Trauma Center

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of emergent and urgent medical conditions.
• Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated.
• Stabilize patients requiring admission or transfer to higher levels of care.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Complete accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with departmental protocols and quality standards.

Staffing Model

• 3–4 Emergency Medicine Physicians per shift
• 3 Advanced Practice Providers
• Full emergency department nursing and ancillary support staff

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Minimum of 6 months of Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain licensure
• Current DEA registration
• Excellent clinical decision-making and procedural skills
