Job Overview

Centurion Health is the provider of mental health services to the Florida Department of Corrections and is seeking a full‑time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler, FL. The position requires completion of a U.S. psychiatry residency and offers a unique opportunity to practice in a large male correctional hospital and reception/outpatient psychiatric services.

• Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients.
• Work under supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director.
• Provide clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health services to patients with psychiatric or other mental health issues.

• MD or DO with completion of U.S. accredited psychiatry residency program.
• Current license to practice medicine in Florida as a psychiatrist.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Active DEA registration certificate.
• Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification.
• Ability to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting (preferred).
• Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit (preferred).

• Monday‑Friday, Day Shift.
• All full‑time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on‑call approximately every 6–8 weeks. On‑call lasts 7 days 24hours and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual salary.
