JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB GOAL
To provide an educational atmosphere in which all students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth and maturation in accordance with District philosophy, goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Card and a Valid First Aid Card issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
2. Completion of the mandatory "Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect" course. Log on to http://www
3.fl-dcf.org/RCAAN/register.aspx . Please upload copy of certificate of completion
3. Must provide three References and High School Diploma or Transcripts.
4. Apply for and receive a Statement of Eligibility or Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificate (Application on line at:(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). ).
5. Knowledge and prior experience coaching.
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:
Knowledge of child growth and development and especially of characteristics of children in the age group assigned. Knowledge of prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of current educational research. Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using standards-based varied teaching methods to address student learning styles. Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents and others. Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement and prescribe actions for improvement.
Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn. Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others.

Principal or designee
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Establish short- and long-range goals based on student needs and District and state curriculum requirements.
2.Plan and prepare instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
3.Identify, select and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs.
4.Maintain a positive, organized and safe learning environment.
5.Manage time, materials and equipment effectively.
