Tallahassee State College is a dynamic and growing comprehensive state college located in Tallahassee, Florida. The College is excited to announce an opening for the position of Nursing Clinical Faculty – P03201 in the Healthcare Professions Division. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community.
What You’ll Do- Demonstrates effective instructional effort by (1) maintaining high academic standards, (2) teaching current and relevant curriculum (3) communicating content effectively, and (4) cultivating an environment best suited to learning.
- Lists teaching assignments and reassigned time assignments (Provided by Administrator).
- Provides instructor syllabi that comply with Policy 05-12. (Provided electronically).
- Grades accurately reflect student achievements of learning outcomes; grade weighting for attendance, behaviors, extra credit, and homework should be lower than learning assessments.
- Teaches classes at assigned time and place and maintains an office schedule; compliance to schedule is expected unless evidence is presented to the supervisor.
- Maintains and reports accurate records of attendance and grades when required by state and federal law and college policy and procedures. Recording class attendance at each class meeting is required by TCC procedure 05-07AP.
- Maintains office hours in accordance with the schedule developed and approved by the immediate supervisor each semester.
- Reviews course objectives and instructional strategies periodically to assure consistency with master syllabus.
- Prepares or revises master course syllabus and assists in course coordination.
- Participates in selection of appropriate course textbooks, resources, and learning management systems or other modes of reference/instruction as appropriate.
- Revises courses or develops new courses as needed to assure relevancy and appropriateness of curriculum.
- Encourage students to make maximum use of College resources, including the Library, Learning Commons, and online resources (as indicated on syllabus and/or handouts/assignments, on Blackboard or elsewhere).
- Engage in service to the college through standing committee participation, assistance in other units such as orientation or recruitment in student affairs.
- Engage in service to the division through committee participation, support for adjuncts, administrative duties, course or finals coordination, or other activities agreed on with the supervisor.
- Provide service to the discipline through leadership positions in state or national organizations.
- Participate in the advising process.
- Follows college policy and procedures in all matters.
- Develops and implements a plan for professional development that may include short and long term goals, as well as documentation to be included in the professional portfolio. The plan may involve innovation in instruction, curriculum, or service.
Requires an active license as an RN in the state of Florida and has at least two years of clinical experience, with a BSN degree (MSN preferred).
