Overview
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Lower School Part-Time STEM Educator to join our Clark Road campus and contribute to a forward-thinking school that values creativity, real-world application, and student-centered learning.
Responsibilities- Design and teach interdisciplinary STEM lessons focused on environmental sciences and ecological systems, including marine science.
- Lead hands-on labs, engineering challenges, and outdoor investigations.
- Guide students in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data.
- Incorporate technology and digital tools to support research and learning.
- Support project-based learning and inquiry-driven instruction.
- Promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and conservation.
- Collaborate with educators to integrate environmental STEM across the curriculum.
- Maintain safe and organized learning spaces, including outdoor and lab environments.
- Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
- Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education required;
Master’s Degree preferred. - Strong knowledge of environmental science and ecosystems.
- Experience with STEM instruction and inquiry-based learning.
- Ability to engage students through hands-on, real-world learning.
- Strong organization and classroom management skills.
- Passion for nature, science, and environmental education.
- Proficient with Word, Excel and the Google drive platform.
- A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff and parents.
This is a 10-month part-time exempt position available in August 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
