The Director of Clinical Training and Professional Development is responsible for designing, developing, and leading a world-class comprehensive program that includes core clinical-nonclinical training, continuing education, on-the-job learning, culture building, coaching and professional development focused on core values and overall strategic business priority and elevating patient care experience. The position assists clinical staff—newly hired and existing technicians, scribes—in achieving proficiency in providing the full scope of basic evaluation procedures, testing & workflow to facilitate patient workups prior to and during provider encounters, advanced testing as indicated in pre-visit chart review or provider order, assisting with office-based examination and treatment procedures and conducts entrance and exit skills assessments, hands-on 1:1 supervised training to proficiency and develops the 30:60:90 post-campus training plan and execution.
The incumbent assesses organization-wide clinical training and professional development needs (front line leadership, conflict resolution, customer service, team building, to name a few) to drive training initiatives. They identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees defining operating objectives and training plans to meet short- and long-term goals. Equipped with leadership and innovative vision, the incumbent will continue sharpening the skill sets for better health and wellness for all we serve.
Compensation Range: $94,000.00 to $ USD
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Assess current training programs, tools, instructional design, learning platforms and modify content and approach based on best-in-class practices.
- Partner with business unit leaders to cultivate, develop, coordinate, and implement training and development strategies to meet the goals of the business units.
- Manage hands-on clinical training and classroom training programs to include establishing criteria for trainer selection, competency testing and developmental programs for trainers.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure a complete understanding of mid- to long-term learning objectives that align with talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to deliver impactful human capital outcomes.
- Collaborate with functional areas and organizational leaders to assess ongoing and future training and developmental needs as well as effectiveness of established programs.
- Develop a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants.
- Research new training techniques and suggest enhancements to existing training programs.
- Oversee and establish relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs.
- Instructional Design – Develop programs, materials and job aids designed to meet identified instructional/informational needs, including training for new staff and refresher training for experienced staff to meet the operational needs of the organization.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and revise training programs, materials and instructional materials as required to ensure achievement of program objectives by learners and the program as a whole.
- Be a resource to and serve as an expert for all internal and external stakeholders in providing innovative and effective learning and development solutions.
- Manage training team development and performance management.
- Review new hire skills assessments & proficiency exams and 30:60:90 post-campus training plans.
- Oversee logistics & coordination of overall clinical training processes at each campus.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business, Science and other relevant field required. Advanced Degree and/or clinical education experience, COT/COMT certification highly desirable.
