overview

mission san luis seeks to fill one full-time and one part-time ops museum education program specialist position(s) to assist with the interpretation of the site.

• high school diploma or equivalent
• available to work weekends on a regular basis and provide staffing for mission san luis as needed
• six months’ experience working and interacting with people
• resume and cover letter detailing experience

• bachelor’s degree in education, museum studies, social studies, history, anthropology, theater, fine arts, or related fields or four years of experience in a similar field
• experience working at a museum or similar cultural site in either a paid or unpaid position

responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported in your employment history.

• give introductions, tours, and programs to student and adult groups at mission san luis
• work outside in period correct clothing in varying weather conditions
• conduct site opening and closing procedures
• present period crafts and/or demonstrations
• help create and implement site programming
• staff special events at mission san luis as needed
• other educational duties as directed by supervisor
