Location: Key Largo
The Adjunct Faculty, Computer Science, position is contracted on a per semester basis. This position is a part-time, instructional position with duties and responsibilities which are established in accordance with State Board of Education Rules and Board of Trustee policies. Teaching assignments may include Introduction to Computer Applications courses. Hours will vary according to class schedules. This position reports to the Dean, Marine Science and Technology.
All instructors are responsible for utilizing the College's learning management system as all College courses are at a minimum technology enhanced.
* Plans, organizes, and instructs assigned courses to promote student success.
* Maintains required office hours to provide assistance to students and communication with administration.
* Responsible for evaluating student learning and objective achievement and providing feedback.
* Selects appropriate materials and equipment for discipline or program use and ensures proper care and safety in their use.
* Adheres to and enforces the administrative policies and procedures of the College.
* Assists in implementing College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the College Mission Statement.
* Responsible for keeping current in the discipline or program areas taught.
* Assist in College recruitment and retention efforts, as appropriate.
* Other related duties as assigned.

* Ability to deliver high-quality instruction in a range of computer application courses.

Education and
Qualifications:
* Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the fields of Computer Science or Educational/Instructional Technology. Preference will be given to credentials in multiple academic disciplines.
* Three (3) years of teaching experience at the community college level or higher is preferred.
* Three (3) years' work experience in the field is preferred.
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.)
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
* None required.

Skills:
* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures and demonstrations.
Environmental Conditions:
* Works inside in an office, classroom, and computer lab environment.

This is a part-time teaching assignment. Adjunct Instructors earn $543 - $727 per credit hour, based on degree level.
