Summary: Responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where at‑risk students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, behavioral, physical, and psychological growth and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with District policies and local, state, and federal regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education or a related field.
• Two years’ experience working with students who have been identified as off‑track.
• Experience in successfully integrating technology into classroom instruction.
• Experience in intensive classroom academic prevention and intervention implementation.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

Positions that require a district‑issued vocational certificate; a bachelor’s degree may not be required.

Candidates for teaching positions who do not have the required qualifications will have the opportunity to agree to and sign a Condition to Earn statement with the following requirement(s):

• Obtain certification in a content area in the grade level of the teaching assignment within the school year in which they are hired.

Failure to complete this requirement will result in non‑reappointment of the employee the following school year.

• Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in a core content area in the grade level of the teaching assignment.

This position may require you to teach an additional period beyond your base contract. If this occurs, you will receive additional compensation at the effective negotiated rate in addition to your base salary. The additional amount is paid as a supplement and disbursed in equal payments based on the District’s established payroll calendar. This amount is considered part of your salary for Florida Retirement System purposes.
