Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Lake Butler, Florida
Location: Lake Butler

Empower students and make a lasting impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in an engaging educational environment near beautiful Lake Butler, FL! This rewarding contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting students' academic and personal growth. You'll play a key role during the  school year, working collaboratively with district staff and reporting directly to the Director of ESE.

Key Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in school settings preferred
  • Expertise in Braille, adaptive technology, and accessible educational resources
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong organizational skills and a flexible, student-centered mindset
Core Responsibilities:
  • Design and facilitate specialized instruction for students with visual impairments
  • Adapt general education curriculum using accessible materials and assistive technology
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for accommodations
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, families, and the Director of ESE to ensure student success
  • Monitor student progress and participate in regular meetings and reviews of IEPs
  • Support students in building independent living, mobility, and self-advocacy skills
Position Highlights:
  • Contract role covering the full school year, from August 6th through May 28th
  • Flexible schedule options: 3 to 5 days per week, 22.5 to 37.5 hours weekly, 7.5 hours per day
