We are looking for licensed therapists and registered interns to work within a public school to provide services to students to enhance their emotional well-being and improve their academic performance. This is a full time W2 emploee job includes benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance and 401K with 3% matching. All employees schedules follow the school schedule August - May.
A school counselor's job description includes helping students with academic, social, and emotional challanges, as well as planning for their future:
Academic support - Help students develop study habits and time management skills, and set academic goals
Social and emotional support
- Help students overcome social and behavioral challenges, and manage their emotions
Referrals-Refer students to appropriate school resources, social agencies, community agencies, and alternative programs
School counselors should have a master's degree in counseling, mental health or social work. They should also have strong interpersonal communication skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a strong problem-solving attitude.
