Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Palm City, Florida
Location: Palm City

Step into a dynamic and impactful role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple schools in the beautiful Southeast Florida Coast area. This contract opportunity spans the entire  academic year, beginning in early August and continuing through early June. You'll work on-site, traveling between campuses, delivering vital DHH services to K-12 students.

Key Qualifications &

Experience:

• Active Florida Department of Education certification is required.
• Previous experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, especially in a school setting.
• Skilled in supporting a diverse caseload across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
• Familiarity with providing itinerant services and engaging with a multidisciplinary team.
• Comfortable assisting with Functional Listening Evaluations (FLEs), Usher Screenings, and gathering audiological documentation.
• Ability to navigate digital platforms and upload reports as needed.
• Completion of fingerprinting for background clearance (existing DOH prints may be accepted).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with hearing loss, fostering academic and social growth.
• Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and strategies.
• Travel between multiple K-12 campuses as an itinerant educator.
• Conduct FLEs and Usher Screenings district-wide.
• Collect, organize, and securely upload audiological evaluations to required digital systems.
• Advocate for and implement best practices and individualized supports.
