Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
  • Highly qualified as per NCLB guidelines
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • ESOL Endorsement/Certification preferred
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedure manuals. Follow directions and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of current Human Resources leave system and Skyward inventory system (if applicable) or willingness to learn new technology practices.
  • Ability to utilize technology in facilitating instruction.
  • Knowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of children in the age group assigned.
  • Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum.
  • Knowledge of current educational research regarding teaching students with special needs.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology in the field.
  • Knowledge of current legal requirements for providing services to exceptional children.
  • Knowledge of varied learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.
