College Counseling Professional

Overview

Scheck Hillel Community School in South Florida is accepting resumes for a college counseling professional (Co-Director or College Counselor) in our high school for the 2026/2027 academic year. This position collaborates with the College Counseling team to administer all aspects of the college search and admissions process.

• Facilitate meetings with juniors and seniors, individually and in groups, with parents and without, to discuss the college search and decision making for individual college choices.
• Advise high school students, parents, and faculty about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing in formal and informal venues.
• Support high school students as they transition from high school to college.
• Establish and maintain relationships with university admissions representatives.
• Coordinate onsite meetings with college admissions representatives.
• Teach college readiness classes.
• Partner with counselors in 8th through 10th grade to begin strategic planning for college admissions.
• Write strong letters of recommendation to support students in the application process.
• Represent the school at conferences and university visits.
