The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering (CBE) at the Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a faculty position at the NHMFL with an academic home as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in CBE through Florida State University.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate courses and participate in college and professional services.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in chemical or biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline, and demonstrate documented potential for outstanding research, leadership, and education.

- A 2 to 3-page research statement. This statement should clearly indicate how the proposed research efforts will connect to other efforts in the NHMFL and CBE.
- A one-page teaching statement
- No more than three selected publications for review

The NHMFL is the world's premier magnet laboratory with state-of-the-art high magnetic field facilities and has a history in development and application of ultra-high field NMR and MRI/S magnets and instrumentation. The MR User Facility hosts hundreds of users from around the world each year. We are seeking candidates with expertise and research in magnetic resonance imaging although other application areas of NMR may be considered.
The candidate will be expected to lead research efforts and user support at the NHMFL in MRI and NMR and be a full academic member with teaching duties in CBE. Successful candidates are expected to develop research programs that are recognized internationally with significant and sustained external funding, incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across campus and through the NHMFL user program, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in education.
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral researchers are expected.
