DOC – DeSoto Correctional Institution Annex, Arcadia, FL. This is a full‑time, grant‑funded position.

As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll play a key role in providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid, supplemental in‑cell assignments, and cell‑front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing, directed by the Lead Educator.

• Facilitating employability and life skills, administering and interpreting assessments, and training in the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
• Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator.
• Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid in a small group setting for participants not in restrictive housing, and other Department‑determined programs.
• Facilitating pre‑release connections with community providers and employers through face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions, including pre‑release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format, maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university or high school diploma, plus two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

• Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in social services or corrections field.
