Minimum Requirements- A high school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of professional or paraprofessional experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, business or industry development, the travel industry, or hotel or restaurant management.
- A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in marketing, business, merchandising, economics, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, or communications AND three (3) years of professional experience in the areas listed above.
- A master’s degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration AND two (2) years of professional experience as described above.
- Graduates utilizing education attained in the United States to meet the minimum requirements will not be appointed until verification of the applicable degree has been obtained.
- Foreign‑trained graduates utilizing a degree attained outside the United States must provide a copy of a credential evaluation conducted by an approved credential evaluation agency.
- Must possess a valid Class E driver license.
There will be a numerically based work sample administered with an established minimum required passing score to all eligible candidates in order to move to the next phase of consideration.

- Monthly travel will vary based on scheduled activities.
- Some weekend and evening travel required for attending meetings, events and conferences.
- Must be willing to obtain additional training appropriate to job functions.
- Coordinate activities, events and award programs to promote the Florida Farm to School initiative and school gardens across the state.
- Facilitate relationships with and provide assistance to School Food Authorities and agriculture teachers to increase school garden participation and nutrition education.
- Promote all division programs through outreach activities and events.
- Coordinate regional meetings for school districts and teachers encouraging Farm to School practices.
- Help schools identify partners to execute on‑site gardens and provide best‑management practices for growing on school property.
- Provide technical assistance with procurement for the Farm to School program in schools on the National School Lunch Program in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop reports on each school’s level of participation and progress of expansion in Farm to School.
- Create targeted plans of action and execute plans for districts with low participation.
- Responsible for school garden and nutrition education activities such as the Harvest of the Month program, school garden programs/events and school garden census.
- Attend school garden and/or nutrition education events.
- Coordinate the development of the annual Florida Farm to School Conference (identifying speakers, farm‑tour sites, coordinating with internal staff and finalizing programming).
- With the Director of Outreach, develop the communication plan to all speakers and attendees.
- Establish and maintain the Florida Farm to School website and a stakeholder network and database for outreach, communications and tracking of existing school gardens.
- Establish direct relationships with retailers, growers, teachers and community partners.
- Foster relationships in the existing network and conduct outreach on behalf of the initiative including tabling events, speaking at conferences and hosting office hours.
- Coordinate and maintain special projects such as school garden trainings, Farm to School grants, Virtual Town Hall Webinars, pilot projects, etc., and provide technical assistance and evaluation of potential pilot programs.
