School/Guidance Counselor
This role is part of the 26‑27 school year. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing the school’s counseling services program to include academic advisement and counseling, developmental guidance, career development, and parent/community involvement.

- Maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary for the duties.
- Provide an ongoing program of individual, small group, and large group counseling services in the areas of social/personal development, academic advisement, and career awareness per the national standards established by the American School Counselor Association.
- Consult and work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, school personnel, district personnel, parents, and agency partners to meet counseling and educational planning needs.
- Interpret and utilize school records, including cognitive, aptitude, and achievement tests, for educational planning; review and evaluate student records and transcripts.
- Address individual student needs and refer students to appropriate school and community resources.
- Provide preventive and responsive services, including crisis counseling as needed; address student mental health needs.
- Facilitate parent involvement in education; assist in parent/teacher/counselor conferences.
- Assist students in developing self‑understanding, self‑acceptance, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Provide information about appropriate community resources.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Florida Professional Educator Certificate:
Guidance and Counseling (Grades PK‑12) is required.

Adds, subtracts, multiplies, divides; computes rate, ratio, percent; interprets bar graphs.

Skills:
Microsoft Office.
Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, hearing; lifting up to 10 pounds; reaching both hands, overhead; environmental noise moderate.
Other RequirementsThis position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations and/or community organizations throughout the district.
