Comments to applicant: Florida law requires all Athletic Coaches to hold either a valid Florida Educator Certificate or a valid Athletic Coaching Certificate. The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates. The Three-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate is issued to provide time to complete the requirements for the Five-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate. An additional Athletic Coaching Certificate is not required for individuals who hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.

All candidates offered a position at the School Board of St. Johns County School District are subject to a national pre-employment background check. Employment is contingent upon the completion and review of a successful background check.

Completion of required athletic coaching courses to include First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), AND AED training.
