This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Holmes Correctional Institution in the Education Department. The position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED® Instructor responsible for delivering instruction in Math/Science, Reading‑Language Arts, and Social Studies through a blended instructional model.
Job Duties- Plan, develop, and conduct classes in assigned subjects, utilizing various teaching techniques to assist student advancement.
- Supervise inmates in the class, conduct roll calls, counts, and maintain attendance records.
- Ensure order and discipline in the classroom, continually evaluate student progress, and administer grades and tests.
- Counsel and advise individuals on program progress, behavior, or personal concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, seminars, and workshops for curriculum changes and professional development, and assist in budget preparation and purchase requests for the education program.
