Summary:
25 - 26 School Year
The Counselor, Elementary School, is responsible for coordinating and implementing the school’s counseling services program, including academic advisement, developmental guidance, career development, and parent/community involvement.

- Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform essential duties.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing individual, small group, and large group counseling services in social/personal development, academic advisement, and career awareness per the American School Counselor Association standards.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, school personnel, parents, and community agencies to meet counseling and educational planning needs.
- Interpret and utilize school records for educational planning and evaluate student transcripts.
- Address individual student needs and refer students to appropriate resources.
- Provide preventive and responsive services, including crisis counseling and mental health support.
- Facilitate parental involvement and assist in parent/teacher/counselor conferences.
- Help students develop self-understanding, self-acceptance, and interpersonal skills.
- Provide information about community resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
- Must have a Florida Professional Educator Certificate:
Guidance and Counseling (Grades PK-12). - Proficiency in reading, interpreting documents, and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic math and reasoning skills.
- Ability to travel to various school sites and community organizations.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.
