In this pivotal role, you will manage classroom activities, foster a nurturing and positive relationship with both children and their families, and implement a wide range of learning experiences. These experiences will cover physical health, social‑emotional development, and academic skills, including logic, language, literacy, and more. Your responsibilities extend to conducting detailed assessments to tailor instruction and support each child’s unique journey, including those with disabilities.

Adhering to stringent health and safety guidelines, maintaining thorough documentation, and ensuring open communication with parents are also key aspects of your role.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED, completion of DCF 45 hours, one year of experience in a children’s classroom, and the ability to pass a background check. Additionally, possess one of the following: a CDA or FCCPC with VPK training, or a degree in education or child development with specific qualifications for teaching children from birth through 8 years of age.
- Have genuine empathy and understanding of children’s needs and development.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children.
