The Orting School District is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Girls' Fastpitch Coach (Non-continuing) at Orting Middle School. Orting Middle School, a member of the Plateau League, is committed to providing excellence in all of its extra‑curricular programs. The assistant coach supports the entire middle school fastpitch sports program.

• Experience in coaching or participating in fastpitch
• Knowledge of volleyball techniques and strategies
• Meet all W.I.A.A. requirements for the Washington State Coaching Standards
• Communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills necessary to run a solid middle school program
• Successful experience working with teenage athletes
• Motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanship
• Experience preferred

• High school graduate or GED
• Minimum age 19 years
• Current first aid and CPR training (approved OSD provider) or ability to obtain
• Flexible schedule
• Available immediately after school—2:25 pm

Salary: 2025‑26 OXA Extra Curricular Salary Schedule Appendix A (will be paid at 2026‑27 rates)

Coaching positions may not be benefit eligible. Eligibility depends on hours worked during the last two school years. Regular employees in coaching roles working 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long‑term disability, and employee assistance program benefits. Other benefits include VEBA, a Health Reimbursement Account, and optional participation in deferred compensation/403B plans and other coverage.

Sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and paid holidays align with bargaining agreements.
