Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program for exceptional student education (ESE) students through curriculum, lesson plans, educational programs, and IEP development while ensuring that all procedures are followed to maintain safety and security and to meet federal, state, local regulations.
Responsibilities- Develop instructional program for ASD students.
- Create curriculum, lesson plans, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff.
- Participate in Community‑Based Instruction and Special Olympics programs.
- May teach additional periods beyond base contract, compensated accordingly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education or related field.
- Approval by or participation in a state‑approved certification pathway program.
- Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or District‑issued adjunct certification.
- Valid statement of eligibility.
- Reading endorsement preferred; willingness to earn endorsement may be prioritized.
- Must participate in Community‑Based Instruction and Special Olympics.
Pasco County Schools utilizes the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse for fingerprinting and Level II background screening.
