Job Title
Teacher on Special Assignment – Technology Specialist (FDLRS Districtwide)
Job DescriptionProvide support for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classrooms by designing modified curriculum, incorporating assistive technology, and implementing communication models tailored to students’ needs. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current technology tools and legal requirements for serving exceptional students.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers and students in ESE classrooms with curriculum modifications and assistive technology solutions.
- Collaborate with parents of ESE students school‑wide to provide parent services and communication support.
- Serve as the district’s technology specialist for ESE programs, ensuring compliance with FDLRS grant requirements.
- Florida certification in Exceptional Student Education (grades K‑12) is required.
- Experience with assistive technology and current legal requirements for exceptional student services.
- Successful completion of the Florida Care Provider Background Screening is required.

Sugarloaf Elementary/Middle School, 255 Crane Blvd., Sugarloaf Key, FL 33042 - School year: 2026‑2027
- Start date:
August 3, 2026
- Base salary: $62,700 – $104,700, commensurate with experience.
- 10 days of paid leave for teachers starting in August.
- Eligibility for Florida Retirement System Pension Plan or Investment Plan.
