- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and required endorsement.
- Meeting certification and highly qualified requirements for core content area(s) at the appropriate level.
- Design and implement educational services for exceptional students.
- Knowledge of prescribed curriculum and research‑based strategies for instructing students with varying learning abilities and styles.
- Ability to use technology to support learning.
- Effectively assess student achievement levels, analyze data, and prescribe improvement actions.
- Maintain appropriate student supervision to provide a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Provide specially designed instruction specific to IEP goals.
- Develop quality Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with present levels, measurable goals, and appropriate accommodations.
- Collect and monitor performance data to inform instruction and report progress toward IEP goals.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with general‑education teachers, service providers, and other staff.
- Collaborate with general‑education teachers and service providers to design and deliver least restrictive instructional services.
- Support general‑education teachers in implementing accommodations and strategies; assist in developing interventions.
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, reevaluations, and procedural safeguards discussions.
- Participate in eligibility and manifestation determinations; develop Functional Behavioral Assessments and implement Behavior Improvement Plans.
- Serve as Local Education Agency representative when designated.
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction to help students master state standards.
- Create real‑time schedules for paraprofessionals and guide instruction delivery.
- Assist with transition planning and assessment for students with disabilities.
- Verify attendance rosters and conduct incidental tasks related to FTE.
- Assist ESE instructional facilitators and administration with scheduling and data collection.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative, organized, and safe learning environment.
- Manage time, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping procedures in compliance with district policies.
- Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
- Utilize progress monitoring strategies and analyze data to adjust instruction.
- Administer state assessments; establish appropriate testing environments and security.
- Apply instructional design principles and research‑based strategies.
- Use multimedia approaches and assistive devices to meet diverse learning needs.
- Enhance critical thinking skills through appropriate strategies.
- Provide high‑quality, challenging, and relevant work aligned with IEP goals.
- Recognize student distress or abuse indicators and take appropriate action per school procedures.
- Teach safety procedures and proper handling of materials and equipment.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with professionals, students, parents, and the community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve the instructional environment.
- Assist others in skill acquisition within your responsibility areas.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and in‑service training.
- Maintain current professional certification by completing required professional development.
- Model professional and ethical conduct with all stakeholders.
- Support school improvement initiatives by participating in activities, services, and programs.
- Perform incidental tasks consistent with position goals and objectives.
Light work:
Exert up to 20 pounds occasionally or 10 pounds frequently to move objects.
