Spanish Associate Language Instructor will assist the 7th Special Forces Group (SFG) which has an ongoing requirement for foreign Language, Regional Expertise, and Cultural (LREC) instruction and LREC program support services.
Responsibilities- Assist Government (GOVT) in managing all aspects of the unit foreign LREC training that enhances the effectiveness of the 1
SFC(A)’s advanced LREC training program. - Execute planned POI and ad‑hoc tutoring sessions. Teach language curriculum based on designated POI and do not deviate from POI without approval from GOVT.
- Develop daily lesson plans (at least one day in advance), take attendance, record students’ learning and behavior progress, and prepare weekly progress reports.
- Develop, review, correct, and grade daily homework; discuss and provide weekly feedback with Site Lead and POI analyst for assessments and quizzes.
- Review, distribute and grade weekly assessments and quizzes.
- Maintain a positive and professional learning environment; address student behavior/attendance concerns with the site lead and use designated materials approved by GOVT.
- Collaborate with Site Lead, POI analyst, or Language Instructional Developer to address student and curriculum gaps.
- Deliver instruction in listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, and regional and cultural subjects using a modern communicative methodology.
- Integrate technology in the classroom and in homework assignments using resources such as Smart Boards, Blackboard, Rapid Rote, SharePoint, the Internet, iPads, Tablet PCs, and other state‑of‑the‑art devices supplied by the Government.
- Develop learning materials as required and organize data and teaching materials using computer skills.
- At least ILR level 2 as measured by a DoD test.
- A score of 553 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) PBT, or a TOEFL‑iBT score of at least 83 overall with at least 20 in each of Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
- A score of no less than 82 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test.
- At least a proficiency level 2 or Advanced‑Low (ACTFL) on an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI).
- General professional proficiency in the specified foreign language (ILR level 2+ or ACTFL Advanced‑High), demonstrated by one of the following: oral proficiency interview, certified interview by ACTFL, or Defense Language Proficiency Test.
- Minimum of 80 hours documented training in online language teaching.
- All candidates will be required to take and pass the foreign language test.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
