Career And Technical Education Teacher - Cte
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Florida State Prison in the Education Department. This position is for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching position in Welding, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.

By offering quality education and training, we aim to reduce recidivism and support inmates in becoming productive, law-abiding citizens.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
Job duties include:
- Planning, developing, and conducting classes in assigned subjects
- Supervising inmates in the class, conducting roll calls, counts, and maintaining attendance records
- Ensuring order, discipline, tool control, and safety in the classroom and/or shop
- Evaluating student progress, administering grades and tests, and counseling individuals on program progress, behavior, or personal concerns
- Participating in staff meetings, seminars, and workshops for curriculum changes and professional development, and assisting in budget preparation and purchase requests for the education program

Requirements include:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years' experience in the CTE subject area being taught; or
- Possession of current licensure or certification(s) in the CTE being taught or a postsecondary certificate of completion (must submit transcript/certificate of completion) may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience
- Must hold the applicable subject area license or industry certification or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire
- Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator's Certificate or if applicable a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate
