Job DescriptionThe Math Coach/Resource Teacher will maintain and monitor the implementation of the mathematics program, including professional development of school personnel. Responsibilities include ensuring comprehensive instruction of mathematics standards, compliance with FTE rules and guidelines from the Florida Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education, and support for STEM initiatives.
Responsibilities- Maintain and monitor implementation of Hillsborough County Public Schools’ Mathematics Program Guidelines and Procedures, including county and state standards.
- Assist with implementation of district STEM initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the Mathematics Florida Standards and best practices, and continue professional development through readings, trainings and conferences.
- Serve as a resource to the school for mathematics‑related strategies and materials to increase achievement.
- Assist teachers in implementing standards across STEM subject areas and in organizing classrooms for math instruction.
- Develop and conduct professional development for teachers on instructional strategies, best practices, use of materials and specific instructional topics.
- Model effective teaching techniques and provide follow‑up support to district and site training.
- Coach teachers to improve mathematics instruction, classroom organization, and effective implementation of district resources.
- Conduct classroom walk‑throughs and provide feedback.
- Train and assist teachers in selection and use of assessment instruments; model and coach assessment administration and data collection.
- Conduct data conferences with teachers to interpret data and plan instruction.
- Provide small group instruction for selected students.
- Assist with competitions, textbook implementation, and parent/community outreach in mathematics instruction.
- Collaborate regularly with building administrators on classroom practices and provide ongoing feedback with the district mathematics supervisor.
- Assist mathematics and content‑specific district supervisors in developing model lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Three years of increasingly responsible classroom teaching experience, with at least two years of related management or supervisory experience required. Educational Leadership experience preferred.
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate.
