This position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED Instructor responsible for delivering instruction in Math/Science, Reading‑Language Arts, and Social Studies through a blended instructional model at Mayo Correctional Institution in the Education Department.

The purpose of the Bureau of Education at the FDC is to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates, enhancing academic, vocational, and life skills to promote successful reintegration into society.

• Plan, develop, and conduct classes in assigned subjects, utilizing various teaching techniques to assist student advancement.
• Supervise inmates in the class, conduct roll calls, counts, and maintain attendance records.
• Ensure order and discipline in the classroom, continually evaluate student progress, and administer grades and tests.
• Counsel and advise individuals on program progress, behavior, or personal concerns.
• Participate in staff meetings, seminars, and workshops for curriculum changes and professional development, and assist in budget preparation and purchase requests for the education program.
