Position Title: Program Specialist IV –  (CS)

Salary Range: $51,584.67 - $60,000.00

This Program Specialist IV works under the Educational Program Director-DOE in the Office of Mathematics and Sciences. The role coordinates and manages state and federal grant programs, supports the implementation of K‑12 resources, and provides leadership on computer science and science education initiatives at the state and district levels.

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of K‑12 resources and instructional strategies.
• Support state curricular initiatives such as the Course Code Directory, Florida state academic standards, virtual instructional provider reviews, Value‑Added Models, and instructional materials adoption.
• Collaborate on projects led by other bureaus (e.g., Division of Early Learning, Bureau of School Improvement, etc.).
• Oversee fidelity and implementation of benchmarks‑aligned, high‑quality instruction.
• Ensure ADA compliance within the department.
• Plan, develop, organize, and conduct professional learning activities related to computer science and science education.
• Maintain files and documentation; respond to information requests.
• Provide leadership in developing, revising, and implementing state academic standards in computer science and science education.
• Offer technical assistance to districts, departments, and grantees throughout the grant process.
• Assist with development and implementation of Florida State Board of Education rules related to computer science and science.
• Analyze draft legislation and prepare written reports or briefings on educational issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned and may require state and out‑of‑state travel.

• Knowledge of Florida statutes, Board rules, school reform policies, instructional support, and FDOE initiatives.
• Expertise in grant processing, reporting, and compliance, including financial awards and expenditures.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and organize information for reports, documents, and presentations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, webinars, online survey tools, and cloud‑based applications.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 4 years of direct experience in education or a related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university may substitute required work experience.
