Preschool Teacher - YMCA VPK Program

Join our dedicated team at the YMCA as a VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher, where you will play a vital role in shaping the early educational experiences of young children. Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with VPK standards
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Assess and monitor each child's progress, maintaining detailed records
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, safety, and health regulations
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and classroom activities
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
Requirements Skills and

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Valid VPK teaching certification or credential
  • CPR
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Knowledge of safety and health regulations related to early childhood education
  • Positive attitude, patience, and a passion for teaching young children
