Responsibilities- research/scholarship in any substantive area related to counseling psychology.
- graduate teaching (e.g., assessment courses, clinical courses).
- supervision of doctoral students in clinical practicum settings.
- chairing and serving on graduate student supervisory committees.
- mentoring/supervising doctoral student research.
- serving on program, departmental, and college committees.
- program/curriculum development and evaluation of the APA-accredited doctoral program.
Ph.D. or terminal degree from an accredited institution in Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to research and scholarship, teaching, supervision, program development, and the integration of science and practice, while serving as a professional role model.
Preferred Qualifications- We encourage applicants with expertise in Counseling Psychology, knowledge of APA-accreditation procedures, and familiarity with national training issues in professional psychology.
- Additionally, candidates with experience conducting and publishing research in areas relevant to counseling psychology are strongly encouraged to apply.
- We seek candidates with counseling or supervision experience, prior teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level, and a developing or well-established independent research program.
- A record of success, or strong potential for success, in teaching, research, and service is highly valued.
- Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program and who demonstrate a commitment to the professional identity of a health service psychologist.
- Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure within the first year of employment, as a psychologist in Florida is strongly preferred.
- Additionally, prior tenure-track experience and demonstrated potential or proven success in securing external research funding are highly desirable.
The Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems (EPLS) invites applications for a tenure-earning Assistant Professor position within the Psychological and Counseling Services (PCS) program, specifically for the Combined Counseling Psychology & School Psychology doctoral program. Our faculty brings a broad range of experiences and research interests, and we are eager to welcome a new team member who will enhance our department.
We seek an exceptional candidate with strong training and professional identity in the field of Counseling Psychology. The EPLS department is home to the Assessment, Learning Evaluation, & Counseling (ALEC) Center, which serves as a hub for training doctoral students and conducting research. The department also has a NASP-accredited School Psychology program and CACREP-approved programs in Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Career Counseling.
Our faculty brings a broad range of experiences and research interests, and we are eager to welcome a new team member who will enhance our department, academic programs, and ALEC.
The roots of FSU’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university’s establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida.
