School of Teacher Education in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Elementary Education program, including but not limited to content specific methodology courses, Classroom Management, Curriculum Development, and Practitioner Research.
• Supervise pre-service teachers in K-6 educational settings, and/or various other content and general methods consistent with candidate expertise and program needs.
• Teach four courses in each of the fall and spring semesters and two courses in the summer.
• Provide service to K-12 schools, the Elementary Education Program, the College, and the profession.

• Earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A minimum of three years teaching experience in K-12 educational settings.
• Commitment to and experience working with all student populations.
• Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

• Experience supervising pre-service teachers in K-6 educational settings
• Knowledge of and experience with current best practices in instructional strategies/methods in K-6 education consistent with the Elementary program curriculum and Florida education standards.
• Experience working with English Language Learners
• Experience mentoring pre-service and in-service teachers
• Successful teaching of face-to-face and online education courses at the college or university level.

Furthermore, faculty receive support from a robust Office of Research to pursue research opportunities, professional awards, and more.

The roots of FSU’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university’s establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. The College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential.
