Experience as a School Based DHH TeacherMinimum 1 year as a school based DHH Teacher. Additional experience/endorsement in ASL or Reading is a plus
Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – Responsibilities- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using appropriate communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading, and written English.
- Utilize assistive technology (e.g., hearing aids, FM systems, captioning, visual tools) to support communication and learning.
- Develop and adapt instructional materials and curricula based on individual student needs, IEP goals, and language abilities.
- Provide direct and consultative services to students across educational environments (general education, resource, or self-contained).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and other related service providers to ensure access and accommodations.
- Support students' language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.
- Advocate for students with hearing impairments to ensure inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations.
- Maintain documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

- Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH endorsement
- Valid State Teaching License with DHH credential or endorsement
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred or required by district
- Additional requirements per state or school regulations
