FSU Libraries seeks an innovative and resourceful librarian to lead and help shape its monographic cataloging program. This is an exciting opportunity for an early- to mid-career librarian who is eager to build their expertise while solving complex problems, improving workflows, and exploring how emerging technologies can support the future of resource description and discovery.
This position will lead cataloging operations for monographic resources in all languages, including materials in non-Roman scripts, and will work with colleagues to re-envision monographic and foreign language cataloging procedures at FSU. A particularly exciting area of exploration will be the use of AI-assisted approaches to support the translation and transliteration of materials in non-Roman alphabets, particularly Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, while maintaining the accuracy and quality essential to library metadata.
This faculty librarian will supervise two full-time catalogers and will combine hands-on cataloging expertise with workflow development, staff training, quality control, and collaborative problem solving. The position offers opportunities to build specialized expertise, contribute to professional service and research, and grow as part of a team of enthusiastic learners.
