The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
PositionSummary / Details
This position will support Polk Power Station and the Business Planning Department. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the station’s budgets, forecasting, finances, etc.
AccountabilitiesAssist the station and business partners with accruals based accounting, monthly budgets and forecasting, strategic planning of capital projects, monthly financial closeout process, and more.
Physical Location of Co-opPolk Power Station 9995 FL-37S, Mulberry, FL 33860
Working ConditionsPower Station but mostly in an office environment. Occasional field walking and may be exposed to heights, dusty, hot, and noisy environments.
Preferred AvailabilityPart time (20-30 hours)
QualificationsEducation: The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
- Enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Required Degree: Finance, Business, Accounting
Year in School: Junior or Senior or Graduate
