Position Specific Description

As theSenior Project Manager, Competitive Intel - South + East Region, you will be the expert on competitor activity, interconnection trends, and market dynamics within the South/East regions (ERCOT, MISO South, PJM, ISO-NE and NYISO). Your insights will shape portfolio-wide strategies by equipping development, origination, and M&A teams with actionable intelligence to optimize project siting, reduce attrition, and improve speed to market and project returns.

This high-impact role ensures NEER teams have the intelligence needed to make smarter, faster, and more strategic decisions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Track and analyzecompetitor pipelines, interconnection queues, and permitting activity to identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Assessregional transmission trends, grid congestion, regulatory shifts, and market dynamics to refine competitive positioning.
  • Deliver data-driven insightsthat influence development priorities, site selection, and market entry decisions.
  • Collaboratewith origination, development, and transmission teams to integrate intelligence into decision-making.
  • Structure and maintainintelligence in a way that is accessible, actionable, and scalable through internal tools and platforms.

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experiencein energy (renewables, oil and gas, etc) project development, transactions, or competitive or market intelligence.
  • Deep understanding of regional transmission and interconnection processes, permitting and regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics within your region
  • A natural curiosityfor uncovering competitive insights and translating data into actionable strategies.
  • Strong analytical skillswith experience using data visualization and market modeling.
  • Proficiency in market research tools, interconnection databases, pricing and revenue modeling, and GIS a plus
Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
