Location

Open across the U.S. – 100% travel required (tall production sites mainly in the U.S.)

Employment Type

Long-term contract-to-hire (position stationed in Tallahassee, FL)

Salary

$110,000 - $115,000 + daily per diem

Travel Perks

Flights, hotels, rental truck prepaid; $80 daily food per diem up to 7 days per week.

About the Role

Join a leading solar tracking manufacturer and installation firm as a Solar Construction Manager, where you’ll serve as a subject‑matter expert overseeing or instructing subcontracting construction companies in the installation of large‑scale solar tracker systems across the country. This is a high‑impact role for professionals with hands‑on experience in utility‑scale solar construction and a passion for delivering quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage on‑site construction activities, ensuring timely and high‑quality installations of solar tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, electricians, and labor crews to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and maintain safety compliance.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to support installation workflows.
  • Conduct and document safety meetings in alignment with OSHA standards.
  • Support project planning including material takeoffs, sequencing, and subcontractor scope reviews.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical and mechanical components to field teams.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in utility‑scale solar construction, with 4+ years in a leadership role (Superintendent, Construction Manager, Owner Rep, or QC Manager).
  • Strong understanding of solar tracker systems – hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction reporting tools.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and construction math skills.
  • Proven leadership and client‑relationship management.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide up to 100% of the time.
