Next Era Energy Marketing LLC seeks a Project Manager Market Analysis for developing long‑term, fundamentals‑based forecasts for energy, capacity, and ancillary service products. The role oversees and performs highly complex studies and forecasts power prices for up to 30 years. You will work closely with internal and external technical and engineering teams to develop forecasts to support existing and new projects and/or technologies and serve as a subject‑matter expert on proprietary forecasting methodologies and modeling tools while maintaining process documentation and ensuring consistency with approved methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external contacts to develop data describing key market factors.
- Formulate inputs to electric sector modeling tools and assist in modeling efforts.
- Maintain electric sector models and proprietary tools with up‑to‑date market intelligence.
- Perform market simulations and develop long‑term power market forecasts in support of development, mergers and acquisitions, and management of existing assets.
- Develop proprietary modeling tools and methodologies to analyze evolving markets and assess impact on company businesses.
- Analyze market, historical, and fundamental data to draw inferences and present results in a clear and understandable format to management and external customers.
- Provide training and supervision to junior modeling staff.
- Present forecast results to management as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Bachelor’s degree in analytics or related field (minimum).
- 6 years of experience in analytical roles or related experience.
- 4 years of experience with power system, market, historical, and fundamental data analysis.
- 3 years of experience using power market simulation tools.
- 3 years of experience maintaining electric sector models, performing simulations, developing forecasts, and future power system planning in regional power markets.
- 3 years of experience with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Master’s degree in analytics or related field (preferred).
- Combination of experience, training and education acceptable.
