As a technology-driven company, we are looking for individuals who want to challenge themselves and contribute to the successful deployment of critical power generation assets.
Job Description:
The Senior Controls Engineer will be a key member of the project execution team, responsible for the entire lifecycle of the controls commissioning process for multiple gas turbine power plants. This role is responsible for developing the comprehensive commissioning and testing plan and then executing that plan on‑site. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power plant control systems, a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, and a proven track record of successfully commissioning large‑scale energy projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed and comprehensive commissioning plan for gas turbine control systems, from initial functional testing through to final site acceptance.
- Lead the on‑site controls commissioning activities, including loop checks, functional tests, and performance validation of the gas turbine and balance‑of‑plant control systems.
- Act as the subject matter expert for gas turbine control systems (e.g., GE Mark VIe, Siemens T3000) and associated plant control logic.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and plant operations, to ensure seamless system integration and turnover.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues during the commissioning and startup phases of the projects.
- Document all testing procedures, results, and commissioning progress with precision, ensuring clarity and adherence to standards.
- Ensure all control systems and commissioning activities comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and support to the project team and act as a key interface with the customer.
Required Skillsets:
- Expertise in the control systems and operation of gas turbine power plants.
- Hands‑on experience with turbine control platforms such as GE Mark VIe, Siemens T3000, or similar systems.
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC).
- Experience in developing and executing commissioning plans and test procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a talent for troubleshooting complex systems under pressure.
- Knowledge of power plant networking, security, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with interpreting electrical and communication plan‑sets.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in the programming and commissioning of control systems in power plants, with a strong preference for gas turbine experience.
