Solar Project Manager – Pre-Construction Overview
Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead pre‑construction activities for solar repower projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with cutting‑edge renewable energy technology while contributing to the future of clean energy infrastructure. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on solar energy development and modernization projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all pre‑construction activities for solar repower projects from inception to construction readiness
- Coordinate project planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities
- Develop comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, environmental, legal, and construction teams
- Manage stakeholder communications and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior management
- Coordinate with transmission and substation (T&S) teams for system integration
- Review and approve project documentation, contracts, and technical specifications
- 6-10 years of project management experience, preferably in renewable energy or utility‑scale solar projects
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Strong experience with pre‑construction project phases including planning, permitting, and design coordination
- Knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical infrastructure, and utility operations
- Familiarity with transmission and substation (T&S) systems and integration
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- PMP certification preferred
- Ability to work full‑time on‑site at Juno Beach, FL location
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes for solar projects
- Competitive hourly rate of up to $50
- 12‑month contract duration with potential for extension
