Overview
Terracon is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The position can be remotely based in Florida, hybrid, or based in a Terracon Florida office.
Responsibilities- Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients, including field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, design, and preparation of related reports.
- Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
- Research and resolve design and construction problems, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
- Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex engineering issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with project-related risk policies and promote safe, high-quality work environments.
- Lead safety efforts, quality monitoring, and continuous improvement on projects.
- Provide technical direction for routine, unique, or complex projects and propose innovative investigative techniques.
- Develop and supervise engineering work schedules, conduct quality reviews, and lead technical training.
- Collaborate on marketing, sales, and business development initiatives.
- Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel.
- Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 8–11 years of experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
- Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.
