Directs the planning, execution, and testing of new construction power plant commissioning within defined budgets, schedules, and environmental targets. Directly interacts with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, OEM equipment suppliers, off‑taker utilities, regional transmission system operators, plant operations, and staff organizations to develop a fully integrated commissioning plan and manage issues as they arise. Through system turnover walkdowns and execution of client verification and validation checks, ensures a quality product meeting the project's performance objectives is accepted from the construction contractor(s), tested, and turned over to the client.
Responsibilities- Define commissioning strategy and long‑term planning for power plant projects.
- Oversee high‑level coordination between regulatory bodies, utilities, and corporate leadership.
- Ensure enterprise‑wide implementation of best practices for commissioning.
- Direct teams in resolving complex technical, contractual, and regulatory issues.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and executive teams on commissioning initiatives.
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Relevant
Experience:
15+ years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.
