Position: Software and Hardware Test Support, Senior F-16 WAM (Secret) - 199
Location: Eglin Air Force Base

We have an immediate opening for a senior Software and Hardware Test Support (F‑16 division, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center WAM, Eglin AFB, FL).

F‑16 “Viper” is a multi‑role fighter jet providing air‑to‑air, air‑to‑ground, and surveillance capabilities for the USAF and coalition partners.

Responsibilities
  • Assist development of test documentation (test releases, airworthiness memorandums) and coordinate test resource scheduling for fighter weapons systems integration test infrastructure, DT&E, OT&E aircraft instrumentation, and test range facilities.
  • Collect required documentation from vendors (software release and safety‑of‑flight memos, aircraft/engine operating limitations, aerospace equipment instructions, frequency‑management data) and coordinate approvals through the program office and ACC.
  • Create and interpret Air Force Form 1067 and Temporary 2 (T‑2) modification documentation to include appropriate airworthiness disciplines and military flight release requirements, supporting ground and flight testing and hardware/software fielding recommendations.
  • Provide technical assistance to develop and coordinate test requirements across the prime, program office IPT, AFTC, and other test agencies, including FAA certifications and approvals.
  • Support program management, test management, and systems engineering for fighter weapons systems OFP software development, test, and fielding.
  • Assist with development of TEMPs, master test plans, and review of contractor and government DT&E and OT&E test plans and reports.
  • Support use of government flight test deficiency reporting systems (e.g., Joint Deficiency Reporting System) to verify descriptions, severity, and recommendations for ground or flight test guidance.
  • Coordinate developmental and operational test enterprise aircraft tracking and test configuration with AFMC on maintenance modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ground and flight test anomalies for hardware, subsystems, sensors, and weapons development integration.
  • Integrate weapons systems for air‑to‑air missiles, air‑to‑ground guided and non‑guided weapons, and defensive pyrotechnics.
  • Assess performance of aeronautical systems, subsystems, and equipment; analyze technical requirements to ensure test methods and strategies meet mission needs.
  • Participate in test support working groups and IPTs such as the F‑16 ITT to support ongoing and future test efforts.
  • Manage the F‑16 test aircraft fleet; coordinate with depot and other teams to enable installation of test hardware on test aircraft.
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
  • Active or current Secret security clearance (DISS verification).
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in a related field plus at least ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years in DoW/DoD roles; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus at least twelve (12) years of experience, with five (5) years in DoW/DoD roles; OR
  • Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with proper certifications, eight (8) of which in DoW/DoD.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience planning or conducting military flight test programs (recommended).
  • Expertise in planning, directing, and integrating all aspects of test and evaluation for aeronautical weapons systems (recommended).
