Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Command and Control Systems Test Engineer located at Eglin AFB, FL. We are adding to our Mobile Command and Control (C2) Systems Test Team and are seeking experienced Test Engineers to contribute to the planning, executing and reporting of complex developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) events. This role demands adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning across diverse technological domains.

While a comprehensive skillset is advantageous, we prioritize candidates with a strong foundation in C2 system principles to include sensors and a demonstrated aptitude for rapid knowledge acquisition. Responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum, including the development of methods of test (MOT), test procedures and documents supporting DT&E.
Required Qualifications / Skills- Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Relevant C2 system and sensor experience required within the last 5 years.
- Technical experience in areas related to networked C2 systems, electronic principles applicable to sensors and sensor‑fed systems.
- Past experience supporting and/or participating in DT&E activities.
- Self-motivated expert accepting responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, executing necessary tasks leading to the successful accomplishment of assigned duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated test team.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications as required.
- Familiar with basic networking as applied to sensors and sensor integration.
- Working knowledge or modern software-based radars.
- Technical knowledge of DoD Air Defense Systems.
- Technical knowledge of DoD radar sensor and sensor formats.
- Understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies including DoDI
5000.
--01, Capabilities based Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E). - Knowledge of system analysis and application software development concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate emerging technologies in a DT&E environment.
- Familiar with planning and conducting integrated test events providing data for independent use by DT&E and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) organizations.
- Perform as a member of the 46 TS Mobile C2 Systems Test Team.
- Interface directly with system Program Management Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs, product development contractors, and Field Service Representatives and other test organizations.
- Lead planning, execution and reporting of CRC sensor systems and sub-systems test to include sensor integration with C2 systems.
- Familiar with Advanced Battle Management System (AMBS), Tactical Operations Center-Light (TOC-L), and TOC Family of Systems (FoS) Concepts.
- Familiar with various encryption devices.
- Review User requirements, manufacturers designs for testability. Participate in contractor test.
- Develop and manage test plans and procedures, schedules, execute a test within the constraints of customer requirements, and produce timely test reports.
- Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing system testing.
- Author technical documents, conduct briefings and formal presentations.
- Travel to locations, as required, to conduct tests, collect, and reduce data.
