Senior Professional Engineer

Position: SENIOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
Location: Palm Beach

Palm Beach County is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer to manage roadway projects from design through construction completion; prepares reports, letters, and inter-office communications; reviews and approves designs, permits, construction agreements, and construction plans submitted by engineering consultants and developers for roadway projects; reviews and approves construction shop drawings for non-standard construction items on County roadways, and signs and seals in-house roadway design projects;

supervises engineering and technical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

* A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work,

OR

* A Related Master's Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional engineering or related engineering work, including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Qualified candidates must:

* Be licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida (FL) OR licensed as a P.E. in another state and ability to obtain State of FL P.E. licensure within 11 months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

* Experience in project management on roadways and highways with geometric and drainage design, and

* Experience working with local government agencies and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
