Our Engineering & Construction Division is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Commissioning Team in Juno Beach, FL. The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for:

  • The execution of assigned Renewable Power Plant Projects as it relates to commissioning, start up, and operational turnover.
  • Ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhering to all Next Era Energy and FPL safety policies.
  • Coordination and management of EPC contractor personnel, OEM start-up personnel, third party start-up contractors, and operations personnel onsite.
  • Project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time as necessary.
  • Compliance with all project contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables.
  • Interfacing with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to ensure project energization dates are achieved.
  • Working collaboratively with resources in various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans.
  • Meeting corporate objectives with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources.
  • Ensuring that projects are efficiently, effectively, and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies.
  • Managing walk down of planned work, validating acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approving contractor payment requests.
  • Verifying constructability, ensuring proper resource allocations, assessing field status and resolving issues as needed.
  • Supervising activities and/or coordinating activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, and analysis and contract administration.
  • Overseeing commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be a self-starter with a high drive for quality, execution, and safety. Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues plus the ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once.

5+ years’ experience in project support for renewable power generation, project construction, start up and commissioning strongly preferred. 3 years’ experience minimum working for an EPC in the renewable space is preferred. Ability to travel at a minimum of 10%, with periods of time during heavy workloads of up to 20%.
